After watching this video (it was part of the Unit #1 presentation) Answer these questions in this question in the comments.
Name 1 way of thinking badly in the video that you would say, I sometimes do that (see HM's reply for an example).
Write down one thing you hope to gain from this class.
Come back later and comment on at least 3 of your classmates' answers.
If we are going to grow in our thinking, we have to take ownership of and take responsibility for our own thinking, so you need to put your answers on this blog under your name, or you can use your initials. "HM" is me. 😁
HM. An important thinking skill is to focus on what is most important. Like Niles, I too often focus on something that isn't important at all and forget about or even mess up what is most important.
What do I hope to get out of this class? I hope to clarify my thinking. I'm not totally comfortable functioning in this online format. I want to learn to think in the realm of what is possible in the circumstances I have, rather than focusing on, "I wish things were different."
1. LS a.k.a Coop. Just like Howard has mentioned, an important thinking skill is to focus on what is most important. From what I saw in the video, Niles tried to do many things at once which resulted in him forgetting about the clothing iron. I believe that if he focused on doing one thing at a time, there would have been any fire in his house in the first place. Like Niles, I also try to do many things at once when I should have done one thing at a time.
2. What do I hope to get out of this class? I hope to better my reading skills because I am not one to be reading books. Other than that, I believe that this class will be the class where I start reading more.
1. Niles knew he had to put out the fire, but he did not do it properly. I sometimes come up with ways to solve some problems that seems easy to me, but it is just not the right way. Instead of solving my one problem, I create more. -Kayla Fanapin 2. I hope to have a more mature and Godly perspective on things.
Students, This is in conjunction with Unit #2. “Are there are any ethical truths and, if so, what makes them true or explains their truth.” (1 Paragraph) Put your answer in the comment section. Come back and reply + or - to 2 of your classmates' answers 1 or 2 sentences are sufficient
Class, This is a group process. Work on this together. Use the comment session to record your conclusions. It would be good to not only record your answers but to, also, let your classmates know how you arrived at the conclusion. When you are confident that you have the recipe, send it to me. You are responsible for your own work. Figure it out, don't look it up. This is an exercise on thinking. Read all the instructions before you begin. You may use a calculator. I encourage you to divide the responsibility in this project. Here are some facts you need to know. 1 cup = 16 tablespoons 2 cups = 1 pint, 2 pints = 1 quart, 4 quarts = 1 gallon A teaspoon is 1/3 of a tablespoon Reduce the recipe below to measurements you can understand. Ingredients: ¼ a quart of unsalted butter _________________ The same amount of crunchy peanut butter ___________________ ...
Your answers to these questions will count as a quiz. Who is Tulsi Gabbard? Is the interviewer prochoice or prolife? Is Ms. Gabbard prochoice or prolife? What is the main support each offers for their position? Do you agree with either person in the video, or do you hold a position different than either of them? Why do you hold your position? Answer all the questions in a comment section. Use your own name or initials. Come back later and read the other comments and reply to at least one.
